I am a well known creepy pasta narrator.
Yes, that one.
I have something I have to admit, a secret I've been keeping, but before I delve into it I should explain what caused this. Why am I revealing this secret now. It was a story I read, a story that just seemed too real. I won't tell you its name, for the sake of your safety and mine. However I still posted the video, I didn't want them to grow suspicious. They might punish me for saying all this, but I don't care anymore.
I was one of the first ones to read creepy pastas, Squidwards suicide, Smile dog, Dead Bart all those old stories. Yes even Jeff the Killer. I had a small but loyal following, but seemingly over night I gained a huge flow of subscribers. In a few weeks I went from fifty thousand subscribers to almost two hundred thousand. It was remarkable, I didn't have an explanation for it and I didn't care. With my rapidly growing fanbase it wasn't long before I was contacted by a corporation. They offered me a great deal of money to keep making videos, in return they would take over advertising my videos. They choose the titles, comments and descriptions I just make them. Sounded fine to me, I liked the added protection. So with them I worked for a three years, every now and again they would send me creepy pasta's to make a video for. I assumed they had been looking at what videos did well and hiring writers to make original stories for me, or maybe they had just been stealing them from other channels.
Now I know.
There was a story, a story I got from my sponsor. The story was about a certain corporation, and it ended with an old ladies death. That wasn't the focus of the story of course, but it was the ending. So it stuck in my mind, the guy even gave her a full name. I thought it was a nice story, and too date it's a very popular video. So I made the video and had it waiting to be posted, that's when I saw the news article. That woman, found dead, just like in the story. Only the article was published today, they didn't find the body till this morning. The story was sent to me the night before.
Then I got the email. It was from a random account. It explained it to me. Keep making videos, do not look into them, do not ask others to research them, and do not claim they are real. They claimed that their had been a mistake in the emailing system, and that the story arrived before it should, they promised it would not happen again. They even gave me a raise, as long as I kept making videos. I wondered how they would convince the public that the story I had read was fiction. A few months later I had my answer, the "Writer" of the story messaged me asking me to take down the video. After a long argument between my account manager and the writer it was settled that he would take my videos. Now anyone that questioned if the story was fiction or not, would find someone very vocally declaring that they were the writer.
That was a year ago, and I can't continue living this lie. I needed you to know that these stories contain a kernel of truth. A kernel deeply wrapped in lies, but it's there. These's stories are real! THEY ARE TRUE!
( Just a quick story I banged out. I thought of the idea of a meta story awhile back and had been wanting to right it. So here's a tale about a Youtubber who reveals that maybe some of these stories are true. Or at least throwing people off of the real trails. )
